Summer Theatre returns
Outdoor summer theatre returns to
Nelson this year, and the highly an-
ticipated event looks set to attract
huge crowds of locals and visitors
if previous years are anything to
go by. The Body in Space Theatre
Company presents its 2015 Outdoor
Summer Theatre season, the steam-
punk adventure, ‘Around the World
in 80 Days.’ Adventurous comedy,
which sees Victorian Englishman,
Philleas Fogg, attempting to win a
wager of the utmost difficulty: trav-
elling around the world by steam-
boat, train and any other means
in just 80 days! Jules Verne’s clas-
sic story has been very punctually
and punctiliously adapted by Mark
Brown and is brought to you by the
same celebrated team that bluffed
their way through ‘The Importance
of Being Earnest’ in 2013 and ‘The
Three Musketeers’ last year. Bring
along a picnic and a donation for the
actors and enjoy lively outdoor thea-
tre in a delightful setting. It’s fast be-
coming a Nelson favourite. Outdoor
Summer Theatre will be held at
Fairfield House in Nelson between
January 23 to 30 Jan, and Richmond
on January 1 and February 1, 6.30pm
at Washbourn Gardens.
