Nelson Region Hospice Trust is pleased to
welcome on board two new nursing staff,
both of whom started at the end of January.
Moving from Golden Bay where she
was district nurse for eight years, Diane
Johnstone has some 15 years total nursing
experience. At Hospice she has taken
on the role of registered nurse. Diane
provides education, symptom management
and all general registered nurse duties for
patients and their families. She says she
finds working at Hospice "very satisfying
because you're able to help people at what
is a difficult time."
The Nelson Region Hospice is keen to
train and develop new nurses in palliative
car and as result has taken on recent
nursing graduate Nadine Aston. Nadine is
participating in ongoing practical, on the
job training as part of the NETP (Nursing
Entry to Practice) programme. She is
involved in various aspects of Hospice
patient care as she works towards becoming
a registered nurse.
Hospice would also like to extend a
warm welcome to 14 year old Myer Van
Gosliga who has joined up as a youth
ambassador. The youngest in the youth
ambassador ranks, Myer will actively
participate in fundraising and lifting the
profile for Hospice.
Welcome to new Nelson staff
To care always
